Stage lighting is one of the means of stage beauty modeling. By using certain scientific and technological means, according to different plot developments, under different stage lighting mapping, it can play a role in highlighting the psychological changes of characters or rendering the atmosphere. Stage lighting is the finishing touch of a performance, so stage lighting design is particularly important. Today, we will introduce you to some issues that should be paid attention to in stage lighting design.

How to use key light
Key light is the most important light source in a scene. Key light is not necessarily just one light source, but key light is the main light source of the photo. Similarly, key light may not be fixed in one place like a point light source.
Although point light sources are usually placed in a three-quarter position (45 degrees from the front of the object and 45 degrees upward from the center line, this position is often used as a fixed position), it can also come from the bottom or back of the object, or any other position according to the needs of the specific scene. Key light is usually the first light source placed, and it establishes a preliminary lighting effect in the scene.
Although the initial placement provides a good way to illuminate the object, the result is indeed a monotonous and boring effect. Shadows are usually rough and very obvious. Similarly, the scene always looks too dark because there is no natural light to set off the shadow areas. It is still useful in certain scenes, but it is not suitable for most pictures.

How to use fill light
Fill light is mostly used to fill the dark and shadow areas of the scene. The light of fill light can provide depth of field and realistic feeling.
The more important fill light comes from natural slow refraction. This type of light is usually called ambient light. This type of light is important in part because it increases the brightness of the entire scene, but most renderers apply ambient light to the entire scene uniformly. Although it reduces the overall darkness of the scene, it eliminates some possible features and cannot model any light and shadow on the illuminated objects, which makes the scene look unrealistic.
The best way to simulate ambient light is to place low-intensity spotlights or floodlights in reasonable positions in the scene. In addition to the natural diffuse light or ambient light in the scene, fill light is used to illuminate too dark places or emphasize some parts of the scene. They can be placed relative to the key light to soften the shadows.

How to use background light
Background light is often used as a "rim light" to separate the target object from the background by illuminating the edge of the object. It is best placed directly opposite the three-quarter key light, which works on the edge of the object and causes a small reflective highlight area. This highlight will make the object add real credibility to the scene.
